Mini-Story (iPhone)

Last Friday,

I’m at Cape Cod Mall after an all-night no-sleep-a-thon. I saw people lined up at the entrance. I thought they were just waiting for the place to open. Later I realize it’s because they’re all wanting an iPhone as they stand poised in line before the AT&T store. That’s when it rung true. I’m pretty content with everything I have (I have an EN-V LG phone with Verizon) and I felt that something as slick and portable and all-in-one as the iPhone is, it makes all of us a little lazier, a little simpler, and overall a little stupider. I protested this by writing on the back of an eight and a half by eleven paper Buying Things Does Not Make Me Happy. I walked calmly past, holding up my message to the consumers and I noticed that they saw my message loud and clear. The best part about all of this is, it may or may have not stayed with them(I think, based on intelligence) but it proved that above all that a message illustrated is more attention grabbing than someone making a scene.
